The Sacramento Kings 411 Communicator delivers new and innovative ways for fans to stay connected to the Kings by providing a long-lasting rich desktop experience which delivers highly relevant content to the fans, increases their ticket purchases, and exposure to Sponsors.
Approach:
The Sacramento Kings Communicator is an easy-to-use branded desktop application (BDA) that keeps fans connected to the Kings. The communicator is designed to deliver a long-lasting rich desktop experience which delivers highly relevant content to the fans, increases their ticket purchases, and exposure to Sponsors.
Kings Communicator content channels bring timely information through the application to the user, which is critical to making it a part of their day. The Game Day page is the application home page and features either current game day information, or information about the next upcoming game day.
• On game day the Game Day page looks different and features different content than it does on non-game days including Game Day News: Teams playing, time of game, starting line up, ticket availability, TV/radio viewing information.
• The application will offer the user relevant ticket offers including a convenient form for the user to purchase tickets.
• Kings player roster is available for browsing, with sub-tabs to individual player information which is updated after every game with new stats
• An RSS-based news reader featuring Kings news feeds.
• The application includes feeds for photos, audio and video with media content played directly in the application. New content triggers alerts when it arrives
• The user will receive messages and alerts about upcoming non-Flyer events happening at the Arco Arena with easy links to ticket purchasing
• The user can easily load wallpapers, screensavers and buddy icons directly from the application.
• Animated basketball player desktop alerts. Animated players come out from the side takes a shot at the user, which then displays the message contents
• Advertising can be run within the application interface
Results:
The Sacramento Kings 411 desktop application has experienced strong adoption, with over 90 percent of down-loaders keeping the application installed for more than one month.

Royal Caribbean: CruisingPower VIP CruisePass
RRoyal Caribbean International faced a communications breakdown with the thousands of travel agents who book 80% of the company’s cruises. Conventional fax and email alerts of promotions, itinerary changes and other information were being lost in a storm of messages that the agents receive from fax and email. Royal Caribbean came to OTOlabs, seeking a technology solution that would address these issues, allowing for RCCL agents to gain access to booking engines and the latest content immediately through a branded desktop application.

Many users were accustomed receiving data in hard copy (binder) format; it was essential to the success of the project that they do not perceive online delivery as a reduction in content or value.

Search Engine Marketing (SEM) has been a proven part of the marketing mix for Comcast for quite some time. The Comcast SEM campaign functions at all levels of the customer experience including Brand Awareness, Research/Consideration, Purchase Intent, Acquisition and Retention. The SEM campaign is a stand out performer that is part of an integrated online marketing effort and is a complement to an offline campaign consisting of broadcast TV, radio, print, out of home and direct response. Comcast looks to paid search to drive qualified traffic to Comcast.com and convert this traffic into orders.
