Digene: DNA with PAP (HPV Test)

Digene sought to actively engage HCPs to spur adoption of its HPV test and to supplement it’s relatively small sales force.  It also had compete against an established generic PAP tests. In marketing DNA with PAP to HCPs, Digene faced a litany of common barriers including adoption of new technologies and/or changes in internal protocols, a potential stigma against the test because it supports a longer interval between tests than the standard protocol, concerns about the investment of time required both for training and patient counseling and concerns about reimbursement coverage.
